How to Find Solutions to Beast Academy Online Problems

Updated on

Parent Reports offer insights into your student's progress in Beast Academy Online (BA Online) as well as the solutions to problems and puzzles. Having access to solutions can be helpful for supporting your student when they get stuck or need help.

This guide covers how to find BA Online problem and puzzle solutions within your Parent Report pages.

Note:

  • If you're looking for more general tips on what to do when your student is stuck on a problem, we have guidance on how to help them in our curriculum FAQs.
  • Solutions to the problems and puzzles found in Beast Academy books can found within the Practice books.
Find Solutions to Lesson Problems

With the exception of games, BA Online provides immediate feedback to students on their answers to lesson problems. Students are allowed two attempts per problem. After one incorrect attempt, they'll receive a hint. If they're still unable to solve the problem after the second try, the correct solution will be revealed to them. To help you provide additional support to your student, you can find the solutions to lesson problems within your Parent Report pages at any time.

2. Select Full Report

On your Parent Reports page:

  1. Locate the student whose lesson problem you'd like to find a solution for.
  2. Select Full Report.

3. Select Level

On the Full Report page, use the Level dropdown to select the level containing the problem you need a solution for.

Tip: When you arrive on the Full Report page, the level your student is currently placed at will be the default level.

4. Select the Lesson

On the Level Report page:

  1. Locate the chapter containing the lesson that the problem is in.
  2. To the right of the chapter, select the Lesson icon for the lesson that the problem is in.

Tip: Hovering over each individual Lesson icon will display the Lesson title.

5. Select the Problem

Note: If you see the phrase "Problem preview currently unavailable for game lessons," after you select the problem, that means that you selected a game rather than a problem. If your student is struggling with a lesson game, we encourage you to work closely with them and read the chapter guides, review the lesson instructions, and watch the lesson videos together.

In the Lesson view, you'll see a list of Problem icons near the top of the window. Each Problem icon signifies an individual problem within the lesson.

Find Solutions to Test Problems

While students do receive immediate feedback after submitting answers to individual lesson problems, they don't receive immediate feedback on individual test problems. Students are provided with all test problem solutions once they submit the test in its entirety (both Part 1 and Part 2). After your student submits Part 1, regardless of the status of Part 2, you'll be able to see their answers and the solutions for Part 1 within your Parent Reports page. Once they submit Part 2, you'll be able to see their answers and the solutions for Part 2.
