There are two types of accounts: Parent Accounts and Student Accounts. Your Parent Account allows you to manage your students' subscriptions and your student's account allows them to sign in to Beast Academy Online (BA Online).

Common Account and Subscription Terms
There are three common terms that you'll hear when it comes to accounts and subscriptions:
- Parent Account
- Student Account
- Student Subscription
The table below provides more information on each of the above terms:

Parent Accounts
When you purchase your first student subscription to BA Online, you create a Parent Account. Your Parent Account is what you use to sign in to update your billing information, access detailed reports on your student's progress, make changes to your students' subscriptions, order additional books, and update your students' play settings.
Parent Account Page
Your Parent Account page is where you view and make changes to your payment information and students' subscriptions.
Your Parent Account page has two tabs:
- The Subscriptions tab
- The Info & Payments tab
Subscriptions Tab
The Subscriptions tab on your Parent Account page is where you view and adjust your students' subscriptions and play settings.
Info & Payments Tab
The Info & Payments tab on the Parent Account page is where you view and update your contact, billing, and shipping information and access your payment history.
Payments
Under the Payments section, you can view your payment history as well as your next scheduled payment and request that an email receipt be sent to the address we have on file under your Parent Account.
Student Accounts
When you first sign your student up for BA Online, you create a subscription for them. Their subscription provides them with access to BA Online. After creating your student's subscription, you'll set up their Student Account, which consists of their username and password.
About Student Avatars, Nicknames, Usernames, and Passwords
Each student has the following:
- An avatar
- A name
- A username
Avatars/Beasts
An avatar, also known as a Beast or Monster, is your student's profile picture which they create in the Beast Builder. Their avatar is shown in the following locations:
- Your email updates (e.g. weekly progress update emails)
- Subscription and Reporting pages in your Parent Account
- The student's private profile in BA Online
- The chapter path view in BA Online, which indicates to the student their location within the content
- The Leaderboards
Name
You specify your student’s name (also referred to as a nickname) when you first create their subscription. Their name will be used in the following ways:
- Your email updates (e.g. weekly progress update emails)
- Subscription and Reporting pages in your Parent Account
- In BA Online messages from our system. For example, "Great work, Grogg!"
- On their private profile in BA Online
You can update your students’ name at any point.
Username
You and your student select their username from a list of options when you set up their Student Account. Student usernames are used by the system to uniquely identify your student and track their progress. They also use their username and password to sign in to BA Online. Once set, you can't change your student's username, however, you can change your student's password at any time.
Their username is shown in three locations:
- Subscription and Reporting pages in your Parent Account
- The student's private profile in BA Online
- The Leaderboards
